Mescalina in Hell

mescalinahell_sept2006.jpgThe dance party goin' down in Hell this Saturday night will be like no other Hell dance party that we've ever thrown. And that's not the typical promo-bullshit hyperbole spiel, either. That's just the straight-up truth! DJ Marco, Midnite Cowboy, and Nate the Skate will be bringing their awesome MESCALINA party down those blackened concrete steps and into the red den of sin that is Hell. Should be ridiculous fun, these dudes spin some really amazing lesser-known jams from the late 60s and early 70s....in Marco's words, "mod, garage, freakbeat, heavy psych, hammond grooves, UK and Euro beat, and more". All-original vinyl too, though the Mescalina myspace page generously offers up a few choice MP3 recordings for those of us leading more digital lifestyles. If you want to get a taste of what this party's gonna sound like, I highly recommend checking out all four of the Mescalina myspace songs, especially Johnny Hallyday's "Psychedelic" (featuring Jimmy Page on lead guitar!) and the awesome "Run Away" by Help. Let me tell you, I was part of a crowd of folks boogie-ing down to "Run Away" at Alibi Bar several months ago...and it was pretty glorious. Come out to Hell on Saturday night and you too can experience the mind-altering power and motion of those magical musical yesteryears.

As usual, no cover charge to get in but guests will need to sign in with Hell members. Oh, and did I mention that there will be go-go dancers?!?!? How hot is that?
